Cyclone Tauktae: Red Alert Issued in Mangalore & Udupi Till May 16

As an effect of cyclone Tauktae, the meteorological department has issued a red alert in Mangalore & Udupi from May 14 to 16. During the red alert, the coast is likely to receive heavy accompanied with thunder, lightning and strong wind which may exceed 204.5 mm.
Fishermen have been advised to stay away from rivers, sea, low lying areas. The district administration has asked the public to stay away from dangerous electric poles, buildings, trees.
