Dakshina Kannada District Incurred Huge Rain Related Loss: Click to Know

August 13: Heavy rains that lashed Dakshina Kannada District for the past one week has caused damage to several propertied including both private and public property.
Initial reports which was submitted to Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa have have estimated a loss of Rs 274 crore. The loss also includes damage to the roads, bridges and other public properties.
Chief Minister Yediyurappa said the Rs 274 crore loss included PWD’s loss of around Rs 142 crore, national highway–Rs 15 crore and zilla panchayat–Rs 62 crore.
