Dandiya to Add in More Festive Vibes During Dasara in Mangalore: Click For Info

Dasara celebrations in Mangalore to be more fun with the inclusion of Dandiya nights this season. Though typically celebrated by a particular community, Dandiya has gained popularity throughout the country.

The oldest and traditional Garba and Dandiya events are held at the Gujarati English Medium School hall near Kudroli. It is organised by Gujarati Mahajan Samaj, which comprises a large Gujarati community living in Mangalore, on all the days of Navaratri Utsav. There are many Gujarati communities and students residing in Mangalore.

However, to make the Dandiya nights more fun, some of the stakeholders in the hospitality industry have planned Dandiya events. One among them is Hotel BMS, that came up with ‘Dandiya Night-2022’, to be held on Friday. Another event will be held at Vertex One at Ajanta Banquest Hall, Bejai Kapikad on October 1. Also, Dandida is organized at Saibeen Complex, Lalbagh, on October 2

Chirag Ariga of Hotel BMS said that it will have a Punjabi dhol performance, a Gujarati Dandiya dance by a dance studio troupe, followed by music to groove to for the guests. There will also be women’s shopping available at a flea market, and a food festival at the venue. “Every festival in India has roots in its culture, having its own rituals, food patterns, and celebrations. We want to introduce the same to Mangalureans,” he said.
