Decision on Hike in Toll Charges at Hejmadi: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to Hold Meeting in Udupi

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has proposed to collect the user fee of the Surathkal tollgate at Hejmadi, after the merger of the tollgates, which is unscientific. Udupi MLA K Raghupathi Bhat met Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari in Delhi on Thursday, to discuss about possible consequences of hiking toll tariff at the Hejmadi tollgate. The minister has agreed to hold a meeting with NHAI officials on Monday.

Though the government passed an order merging the Surathkal tollgate with the one at Hejmadi, the NHAI concessionaire Navyug Toll Road Company has not started charging the hiked fee at Hejmadi.
