Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman questions Pramod Madhwaraj’s accusation on the Indian Navy

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the coalition candidate for Udupi-Chikamagalur Constituency, Pramod Madhwaraj should be aware of the statements that he makes. The minister questioned Pramod Madhwaraj’s accusation on the Indian Navy being responsible for the tragedy where seven fishermen had gone missing.
She said if Madhwaraj comes up with any documents to prove his accusation, then an inquiry would be conducted into the matter.  Just throwing an allegation on a sensitive matter like this, without having any proofs in hand will only add to the bitterness.
The minister promised to increase the search operations to trace the seven missing fishermen. She said that she had held a meeting with the fishermen’s association and spoke to them about the efforts taken by the government to search the missing fishermen on the fishing boat Suvarna Tribhuja.
