Demand For Dress Code At Kukke Subrahmanya Temple: Do You Think It Will Be Implemented?
January 16: A memorandum has been submitted to Karnataka’s richest muzrai temple by the right-wing organisations Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, requesting the authorities to implement the dress code followed in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu temples.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad division secretary, Mangalore Sharan Kumar said that Devotees should wear Hindu traditional dresses or stick to ethnic wear when they are visiting temples. He also mentioned that devotees at Kukke temple are seen wearing, jeans, t-shirts, half pants and even night pants which is not allowed in temples in other southern states.
Therefore the government is requested to implement a dress code in Muzrai temples, Sharan Kumar added.
