Deputy Commissioner Likely to Shift to New Building in a Month: Old DC Building to be Converted Into Museum

Deputy Commissioner M.P. Mullai Muhilan likely to shift in a month to his office in the new office complex that has come up in Padil in Mangalore. Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda and District in charge Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao went around the office complex on Sunday. The  Ministers directed the DC to move in first, along with other district offices.

Seeing the big room and conference hall that have been allotted for the offices of the district in-charge Minister and the MP, the two Ministers said the conference hall can be used by other departments. The Ministers were greatly impressed with the office space allocated to Speaker and Mangalore MLA U.T. Khader.

Simultaneously a master plan is being devised for use of the heritage building and the old building of Deputy Commissioner in Hampankatta. Apart from making this a place that will be visited by people, the District administration has planned to developed them as a museum and cultural centre.
