Drive against vehicles with modified Bike silencers: Commissioner Patil

March 16: During the phone-in programme conducted on Friday, Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil received a set of complaints against motorcycles with thumping sound.
The Royal thumping made by motorbikes with modified silencers are creating a noise pollution in the city & have created a nuisance to the citizens.
Youths have developed a craze for enhanced thumping sound from a particular brandof motocycles. Even though a drive was launched previously to curb this, it did not have much effect on the riders.
Commissioner Patil directed his officials to launch a new drive to crack the whip against such vehicles in the city. He mentioned that during the drive, such silencers will be removed from the motorbikes on the spot.
