English medium which started this year in Government schools is a hit in Dakshina Kannada

June 5: Government schools in Dakshina Kannada district opened English medium sections this year. English medium sections is seeing a huge success and is high demand.
As on June 1, 43 selected government schools have admitted 1,474 students in the English medium whereas the number of students admitted in the Kannada medium in 43 schools is only 176. Government Higher Primary Model School, Vittal, has received the highest number of admissions with 121 students for class one, while Government Higher Primary School has got the second highest number of students admitted in the English medium with 106 children.
Within a few days of school reopening, these schools admitted a large number of students in the medium, which was beyond expectation. Even though the government has restricted admissions to 30 students some schools admitted students two to three times more than that.
