Finally The First CNG Bus Starts Operating in Mangalore: Check Out

First bus running on compressed natural gas (CNG) has started operating in Mangalore from December 11, Saturday. The bus which is made by Tata company, is owned by Ronald D’souza from Adyar and is currently plying between Mangalore & Uppinangady.

The cost of the bus is 30 lakhs nut gives more mileage than the diesel buses. It is also considered to be cleaner & cheaper while compared to petrol & diesel buses which also increases pollution.

At present there are only 3 CNG refilling stations located at Kolnad, Kavoor and Hosabettu in Mangalore. Several other bus owners have expressed their interest in buying CNG buses in near future.
