Fish weighing 1,200 kg cought by Malpe fishermen
May 12: A fishing boat from Malpe which had ventured into deep sea fishing has found a huge fish weighing 1,200 kg. The fish is locally known as Kombu Thorake (Sting Ray). The fish weighed 1,200 kg and was netted by the boat Vighnaraja -2 owned by Malpe Kola resident Mithun Kunder.
The fish was netted three days ago at around 100 feet deep in the sea. The fish was later sold at 50 Rs per kg.
