Former Mayor slams the police action at an event in temple.

Ex Mayors Harinath Jogi& M Shashidhar hegde spoke against the action by Mangalore city police in stopping the use of mikes at yakshana event which was going on at Sri mahalingeshwara temple, Kavoor on Shivaratri.

Harinath said the action was uncalled for. He mentioned that Yakshagana is a part of shivaratri celebrations. Shashidhar stated that poloce personnel who are supposed to uphold the the law have turned to be the law breakers by putting an unnecessary spoke into the annual shivratri programme.

Minister U T Khader has assured that action will be taken against the police officer based on the reports by the city police chief.
