Gold concealed in a new way: Customs officials yet again prevent smugglling at Mangalore Airport

June 7:  Attempts were made to smuggle gold into the country through new methods. Customs officials at Mangalore International Airport yet again prevented the attempts to smuggle gold. Customs officials seized 655.94 gms of 24K purity gold, valued at Rs 21.65 lakh, in three separate cases at MIA.
This time the gold was found concealed in underwear in the form of paste in two passengers and in one case the yellow metal was concealed as gold strips in a measuring tape.
