Group of Students From Udupi District Repair a Road That Was in Pathetic Condition: Become Inspiration to Others

A group of students from Government PU College decided to repair a stretch of road that was in pathetic condition on Sunday. Preetham Ganiga, a class 10 student from the college said the road connecting Byndoor to Moodanagadde was in bad shape. This is a rural road in Taggarse and is about six kilometres away from the main town. The road is also steep. Several two-wheeler riders have fallen after they lost control over their vehicles. The youth of the village were planning to take up the repair, but even before the elder boys could execute the plans, the students had done it

Several children and pregnant women use this road daily and many of them have met with accidents. Instead of waiting for others to take up the road repair, a group of friends who also live in the area decided to take up the repair work. Preetham Ganiga, a class 10 student from the college said that this has been done for our own good and to prevent further accidents.

The students who were part of this mission include Lathik, Sharath, Vibin and Abhishek, class 10 students, Chethan, a I PU student from Byndoor PU college, Puneeth Ganiga, a class 10 student from Kollur Government school, Prithesh Ganiga, a class five student from Hallihosur.

Chief officer Byndoor town panchayat Naveen Kumar CS has assured to look into the issue and take suitable action for the development of the road. He also assured to visit the place.
