Heavy Rain in Mangalore & Udupi: Orange Alert Issued For Next Two Days

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for nine districts in Karnataka including Dakshina Kannada & Udupi on August 28 and 29. The IMD stated that the districts will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall. There is an off-shore trough at mean sea level that runs from Karnataka coast to Kerala coast, due to which coastal districts will likely experience widespread rainfall from August 27 to August 30. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into these sea areas from August 27 to 30.
