Heavy Security at Nehru Maidan: KSRP Police Personnel Deployed at Spot as Precautionary Measure

January 5: The Muslim Central Committee had planned to hold a protest at Nehru Maidan against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) on January 4, Saturday.
However, the protest was postponed after police commissioner Harsha denied permission citing that Nehru Maidan was not a suitable venue for massive gatherings.
As a precautionary measure Mangalore city police have deployed police personnel in surrounding areas at Nehru Maidan. Four battalions of RAF and over 800 KSRP police personnel are deployed at the spot.
