High court serves notice to DC Sasikanth Senthil: Click to know why?

June 7: An inquiry of the public interest litigation (PIL) was filed on the accusation of encroachment of the lake at Shimanthoor of Mulky taluk in the district of Dakshina Kannada (DK). The high court, which conducted the inquiry of the public interest litigation (PIL) has served notice to the deputy commissioner and revenue department of the district.
The PIL was filed by Sanjeeva Shetty and others requesting the court to order eviction of the people who have encroached the area surrounding the lake. As per the the public interest litigation many people have encroached the 3.30 acre land of Madreguthu lake at Shimanthoor of Mulky taluk for personal use. Even though this had been brought to the notice of the concerned tahsildar, no action was taken.
An inquiry of the petition was conducted by the divisional bench of chief justice P S Dinesh Kumar A S Oka and justice P S Dinesh Kumar on Thursday, June 6 served notice to all the respondents including the revenue department, deputy commissioner of the district, sub-divisional officer and Mulky tahsildar. Along with this the court has also ordered to mentioned that this issue is a serious one and the local tahsildar has to conduct a survey and investigate whether the land around the lake is encroached by private individuals and submit a report to the court.
