Hijab Row Continues in Mangalore: Sixteen Students Meet DC Rajendra

Sixteen Muslim Female students from University college met DK deputy commissioner KV Rajendra and urged him to allow them to wear headscarf in classrooms. They submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner in this regard.  They met the DC after they were denied entry into the college citing the Karnataka high court order and university rules.

The DC, in turn, apprised the students of the court’s directive and the university had to obey the same. The DC mentioned that the is educational institutions which frame guidelines based on the court verdict.

A few girl students said that Religious leaders and student organisations should help them to find a solution to the problem.
