Human chain on the beaches of Talapady, Someshwara, Ullal, Kotekar, Surathkal and Sasihithlu

April 7: As a part of ‘Praja Sangama’ programme the district SVEEP Committee had organized  a human chain from Talapady to Sasihitlu, on Sunday April 7  to ensure 100% voter turnout. The human chain was formed on the beaches of Talapady, Someshwara, Ullal, Kotekar, Surathkal and Sasihithlu. The human chain is part of the celebration of election, where people can participate without any discrimination.
DC and District Returning Officer Sasikanth Senthil S flagged off the programme at Bengre beach. DC thanked the local villagers, educational institutions and the beach development authority for their roles in making the event successful. District SVEEP Committee chairman and ZP CEO Dr R Selvamani said that the objective of this human chain will be fulfilled only if the voting percentage in the upcoming Lak Sabha election improves as compared to the earlier polls.
Thousands of people took part in this Human Chain, including officials from government departments, NCC cadets and students. Along with this Kabaddi matches, Yakshagana and group dance by children were also held as a part of Praja Sangama. Voters also took a pledge on the occasion.
