Illegal transportation of Sand: Truck seized
April 23: A truck which was transporting sand without permission was seized at Padil in Mangalore on Monday, April 22. Kankanady police seized the truck on receiving directions from Mangalore south sub-division assistant commissioner of police Rama Rao.
Mangalore City police commissioner Sandeep Patil said that the truck has been handed over to the department of mines and geology for further investigation. The value of the sand seized is estimated to be 10 lakhs.
