Indian Metereological Department Forecasts Heavy Rainfall Over Coastal Region From June 5

Indian Meteorological department (IMD) has forecasted that the south west monsoon has entered Karnataka state. Though monsoon entered Kerala a few days back there was no heavy rainfall. Monsoon has entered Karnataka on June 2. However, it is likely to enter the coastal region in full force from June 5.

From the period of March to May, various parts of the state received heavy rainfall. As the pre-monsoon showers lashed in copious amounts in DK and Udupi districts drinking water woes have been resolved. The average pre-monsoon rainfall is expected to be 237 mm in DK distict. However, this year the district has already received 326 mm of rainfall during the period. In Udupi against the expected 199 mm of rainfall, the district has received 257 mm of rainfall.
