Iron nail in samosa at Udupi

April 23: An iron nail was found in a Samosa which was purchased from a shop near National Highway in Udupi. Social worker Nithyananda Olakadu, said that there were a number of street food stalls operating beside the roads in the district.
He stated that the food safety officials should inspect the quality of food supplied by these street food stalls. There are several instances where iron nail, staple pins and cockroaches were found in fried eatables, including samosa. He said that the food safety officials should visit the hotels and street food stalls and inspect the quality, for people’s safety.
