ITI lecturer hacked to death: Two arrested

May 29: Police have arrested two accused in connection with the brutal murder of ITI  lecturer Vikram Jain at Kotikatte in Mundur village. The arrested accused are Nagesh Poojary (32) and Deekayya Nalke( 39).
Police said that  Nagesh and Deekayya has heavily intoxicated Vikram and then murdered him and had planned to flee to Mumbai via Mangalore. But the Police succeeded in arresting the accused from Byndoor railway station before they made their way to Mumbai as per their plan.
Vikram reportedly was in love with the daughter of Nagesh Poojary’s paternal aunt which may have created hatred for Vikram in the minds of Nagesh. On the other hand,  Deekayya was eying to usurp Vikram’s 15 acres of land adjacent to land belonging to Deekayya. It is suspected that Deekayya must have helped Nagesh to murder  Vikram.
