Jyothsna Amrith, An Engineer From Mangalore Wins Future Leaders Award at Singapore: Way to Go

Jyothsna Amrith, 34, hailing from Mangalore, has won the FIDIC Future Leaders Award, a global recognition, during a ceremony hosted in Singapore, recently. Jyothsna is currently the project manager, from Atkins in Denmark that has transitioned to Systra, Denmark.

Jyothsna is the daughter of Amrith Kumar, former chairman of Bal Bhavan in Karnataka, and Leela Amrith, a retired manager with Union Bank of India, (previously Corporation Bank). Her younger sister, Lieutenant Commander Disha Amrith, led the Indian Navy’s Republic Day 2023 contingent at Kartavya Path.

After completing her formative education at Canara Institutions in Mangalore, she graduated as a civil engineer from BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru. She earned a master’s degree in transport and business management from Imperial College London and University College London. Her career commenced with Atkins India, as a graduate permanent way engineer, specializing in rail solutions.
Jyothna’s interest towards solving the problems of crammed cities has spurred exponentially. Jyothsna  was recognized with the Danish Young Advisor (FRI- The Danish Association of Consulting Engineers) Award earlier this year.

Jyothsna is probably the first Indian woman to attain this accolade. She is a Chartered Engineer from Engineering Council UK and member of Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, UK.
