Kannada Made Compulsory on Boards at Shops Under MCC Limits: What is Your Take on This?

Commissioner of Mangalore City Corporation informed that business owners within MCC limits which include all commercial, industrial, business enterprises, trusts, consultation centers, hospitals, laboratories, entertainment centers, and hotels are required to display their signage in Kannada.

They must ensure that 60% of their business signs are in Kannada. This condition is mandatory for obtaining a business license. Compliance with this requirement will be checked during the renewal or issuance of new business licenses. Failure to comply will result in the business license being revoked without prior notice.
