The Dakshina Kannada district administration has decided to hold this year’s Karavali Utsav from December 19 to January 4, 2026, informed Deputy Commissioner H.V. Darshan. The DC asked officials to make preparations for organising cultural, artistic, and adventure programmes to attract mass audience.
Beach Utsav, Kala Parba, Chitrasanthe, floriculture and horticultural exhibition, and other programmes will be organised. It is being considered to organise various separate programmes in all the major beaches of the district. Sports programmes will be given importance. Beach football and volleyball programmes will be organised. In addition, bike and car shows and a dog show will be held. The venues of the programmes will be Lalbagh Karavali Utsav Ground, Kadri Park, and major beaches. The district administration might organise some programmes in Pilikula as well.
The DC said that discussions will be held with the authority concerned regarding allowing people to view ships and Indian Coast Guard ships at the New Mangalore Port as part of the festival.
