Kateel Temple To Be Plastic Free Starting From Brahmakalashotsava Rituals

January 21: The Brahmakalashotsava rituals at Kateel Durgaparameshwari Temple being held from January 22 to February 3 will be plastic-free.
The temple management has decided for zero-plastic use during the upcoming celebrations, and have decided to continue the same in the future.
Sources from the temple management committee, more than 25 lakh devotees from across the country are expected to attend the  Brahmakalashotsava they have already made arrangements to serve food and prasadam without the use of plastic.
Hari Narayana Asranna, Kateel temple priest said that earlier the temple served everything on plastic, including the prasadam but starting from this Brahmakalashotsava, the temple has decided to go plastic-free wherever possible. The prasadam will be served in paper covers, and cloth or paper covers, and cloth or paper bags will be given to devotees. Coffee and tea will now be served in paper cups. Food will be served on plantain leaves, and steel and areca sheaths will be used.
Hari Narayana Asranna also mentioned that all the banners and buntings will be made from cloth.
This move by Kateel Temple authorities is much needed for the betterment of the society.
