Kavoor Lake turns into a dumping yard: Read more about this

June 20: Kavoor Lake has turned into a dumping yard for everything from liquor bottles to sanitary napkins.
Animal activist Tauseef Ahmed has been releasing water snakes and birds to Kavoor lake for the past seven years. On Monday, when Tauseef visited to Lake to release a water snake, he was shocked to see the level of pollution at the lake, he said.
Tauseef said that the lake is covered with all kinds of waste including medical waste. Along with this, waste like large number of liquor bottles to plastic bottles, syringes, sanitary napkins and even condoms was found.
The lake is spread over 9.5 acres and is very beautiful. Tauseef visited the lake again next day to clean a portion of it. Even though he attempted to clean the lake for three hours, but believes that atleast 50-60 days of dedicated cleaning is necessary.
