KSRTC Plans to Start Bus Service to Mangalore Junction Railway Station From Various Places

KSRTC Mangalore division is planning to introduce the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM) buses to Mangalore Junction Railway station from various places. People are forced to depend on autorickshaws and taxis to reach various destinations, especially Edapadavu, Ganjimata, Kaikamba, Gurupur, Vamanjoor, Kulshekhar and many other places in and around Mangalore. Though two city buses are operating to Mangalore Junction railway station, there is no designated parking place for it. Based on requests from railway passengers, the KSRTC division has decided to study various routes and introduce JnNURM buses on priority.

The KSRTC Mangalore division has already sent a request letter to the Southern Railway seeking permission to park NURM buses at the Mangalore Junction railway station premises. The division also has deputed a team of officials to conduct study for the preparation of bus routes based on the train timings.
