Lady Goschen Hospital in Mangalore to be a Model For Other Centres in The State: These Facilities Are Available
The State government is making efforts to upgrade government hospitals and the government Lady Goschen Hospital in Mangalore city will be a model health facility for other centres.
Mangalore City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath dedicated a potable drinking water unit and stretchers for patients donated by Micro Electrical Group of Companies at Lady Goschen Hospital on Monday. MLA Kamath said government funds as well as cooperation of private organisations are necessary for the upgradation of Lady Goschen. Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers (MCF) and other companies have been supporting the cause. Micro Electrical company proprietor Dileep Jain has provided a potable drinking water unit worth Rs 2 lakh.
Lady Goschen Hospital has been upgraded with a new maternity and child health centre developed at a cost of Rs 12 crore and a high-risk pregnancy ward has been set up at a cost of Rs 2 crore. Meanwhile, an office complex has been constructed for the hospital at a cost of Rs 2 crore and a Sakhi One Stop Centre was set up spending Rs 40 lakh by the Mangaluru Smart City Limited.
