Leopard Caught in a Trap rescued: Handed over to Pilikula Nisargadhama

August 7: A four year old female leopard was caught in a trap (noose) laid to trap wild boar at Ashwathapura Berinja in Thenkamijaru gram panchayat jurisdiction.
The local residents on noticing the trapped leopard informed the officials of the forest department. The officials of forest department and Pilikula Nisargadhama rescued the leopard that was trapped. After offering first aid, the leopard was taken to Pilikula Nisargadhama. A large number of people had gathered to get a glimpse of the leopard. A suo motu case has been filed by the Moodbidri forest officials against miscreants for laying a trap.
