Lockdown effect: Restaurants Plan To Increase The Food Prices

May 19: There are thousands of Vegetarian & Non vegetarian Hotels in Dakshina Kannada district having several number of employees working for them. Certain Hotel owners have paid the salaries to the employees inspite of having no business.
Hotel Owners Association in the district have decided to increase the prices of food items served by the restaurants after the lockdown is lifted. The hotel owners said that this decision has been taken to recover the loss they had due to the lockdown. The rate hike is likely to increase from 10 to 20 per cent in the coming days to offset the losses incurred by the band.
In the wake of the lockdown, parcels are now being allowed in hotels but most of the hotels in the district have not opened yet.
