Lorry driver lodges false complaint: Gets arrested

April 5:A lorry driver has been arrested by the Uppinangady police for not only lodging a false robbery complaint and misleading the police, but also for stealing goods worth lakhs of rupees. The arrested has been identified as Ambareesh, a native of Pandavapura in Mandya.
Ambareesh earlier had lodged a complaint saying that few miscreants had tied his hands and legs with a rope and robbed him and goods, worth lakhs of rupees, in Golithottu under Uppinangady police station jurisdiction on March 25.
As per the investigation done by the police, Ambareesh himself had stolen the goods. Police said that he had faked the robbery as he had borrowed a lot of money and wanted to clear the debts.
