Lukewarm Response to KSRTC Tour Packages: Mangalore Division Cancels Trips on First Four Days

The Mangalore division of KSRTC had earlier announced Kerala package and Madikeri package for the convenience of tourists to visit various religious shrines and other tourist destinations. Under the Kerala package, the KSRTC has planned to take tourists from Mangalore bus stand to Kumble Sri Gopalakrishna Temple, Ananthapadmanabha Temple, Madhur Temple, Malla Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple, Kanhangad Nithyananda Ashram and Bekal Fort. The package fair is Rs 750 for adults and Rs 700 for children between 6 and 12 years (excluding food). Madikeri package tour includes visits to Raja’s Seat in Madikeri, Abbey Falls, Nisargadhama, Golden Temple and Harangi Dam at a cost of Rs 500 for adults and Rs 450 for children (excluding food).

Though the daily package tours were scheduled from December 23 to 31, due to a lack of a sufficient number of bookings, the division could not operate trips on the first four days. Mangalore KSRTC division controller Rajesh Shetty said the response to the package tours was poor and hence the division could not commence the trips.
