MAHE decides to make the best use of land near Manipal End Point: Click to Know

July 19: The project team of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has decided to use two-acres of land near the End Point to harvest rainwater.
Ivan D’Souza, the deputy director of MAHE said that the two acre land has been dug up to hold eight million litre of water which can charge the existing borewells. The water body, spread across two acres has a varying depth a varying depth of 8 and 10 feet to store the water. It will be called ‘Mini-Palla’. As a precautionary measure, fencing has been erected all around the water body.
MAHE already has stations where rainwater from terraces is collected, filtered through sand filters and stored in underground tanks to be used for general purposes by students and staff.
He even mentioned that MAHE plans to construct two more such water bodies on its campus.
