Man attacked with weapons: Miscreants absconding

May 22: A man was critically injured when miscreants assaulted him at Neralekatte in Kundapur late on Monday night. The victim has been identified as Akshath Shetty, aged 24 years, in a catering unit. The miscreants, who assaulted Askhath, have been identified as Santhosh Shetty and Prasad Shetty who are absconding.
Sources said that Akshath was assaulted with legal weapons at around 11 pm when he returned home from work. He collapsed due to the serious injuries. His neighbours raised an alarm, but the suspects fled after robbing Rs 46,000 from him. Police sources also said that Shetty had fought with Prasad earlier and personal rivalry may be the reason behind the assault.
