Man gets off the bus when asked to pay fare for live chicken

April 29:  A passenger got off from a KSRTC bus at Uppinangady, when the conductor asked him to pay the fare for the two chicken he was carrying. He was a resident of Kupperi and was carrying two live chicken to offer at a Daivasthana at Shiradi Gadi and boarded a bus bound for Sakleshpur. The ticket fare was Rs 77 but the bus conductor asked him to pay Rs 154 taking into account the two chicken.  As per the new rules by the Transport Department, a conductor should collect half the fare when a passenger carries a chicken, but the man refused to pay for the chicken and got doen from the bus and pledged not to travel in the bus while carrying a chicken.
