Mangalore City Police Takes These Precautionary Measures Amid Covid 19 Situation
July 17: Due to fear of coronavirus in the district, police personnel have made some changes in the functioning. The police department has taken several precautionary measures while approaching the geberal public.
Public has been barred from entering police stations and separate arrangements have been made outside the stations to receive complaints. Complaints are also received through online and phone. Glass cabins have been asked to be erected to receive complaints at the reception area. Police personnel aged over 50 have been asked to work from home. The stations are also sanitized on a daily basis. The police posted at COVID hospitals, graveyards etc are provided with masks, headgear, gloves and PPE kits. The police are also provided with Ayush/Ayurveda medicinal supplements to improve resistance against diseases. The police personnel who are given outdoor duties get four days rest after ten days of duty and can come to the station only after the four days. When one batch of police complete their outdoor duty, another batch is given responsibility in their place.
