Mangalore finally gets good rain: Will water rationing be withdrawn?
June 14: Mangalore city has been witnessing heavy rianfall from June 11. Inflow into Nethravati river has seen an increase and water level at Thumbe dam has gone up marginally. Water level in Thumbe dam, which has a maximum storage capacity of 6 metres, increased from 2.1 metres to 2.4 metres.
MCC executive engineer KS Linge Gowda said that water rationing has been withdrawn in the city since there is good inflow into Nethravati river. Water level of Nethravati river has increased to 3 metres in Batnwal against the danger level of 8.5 metres. Water level of the river in Uppinangady has risen to 9 metres against the danger mark of 29.5 metres.
