Additional forces from the Karnataka State Reserve Police as well as the City Armed Reserve have been deployed to monitor and conduct surprise checks at Central railway station, Mangalore junction railway station, City and service bus stand. Mangalore police team is also in touch with all central agencies, including Intelligence Bureau, Research and Analysis Wing, NIA and state intelligence.

Condemning the incident, BJP state president and Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel tweeted: “On the directions of the Central government, the National Investigating Agency will probe the Mangalore blast case and will help trace the trail of fundamentalists behind this act. NIA has launched a probe to identify the interstate traitors. Our senior police officials are cooperating”. “All arrangements have been made to maintain peace and order in the city. Those attempting to carry out terror activities will not be spared. After the central government banned a few organisations, some started committing acts of vandalism,” he said. “Cooperation from citizens is important in our fight against terrorism. In Karnataka, our police department is busy tracing the source of the blast case and necessary assistance has been provided by the Centre. This is an attempt by communal forces to disrupt peace in the city,” he added.
