Mangalore Police Start Using The New Portable Scanner During Night Beat: This is How it Works

The police personnel coming under all police stations coming under Dakshina Kannada have started using portable scanner during night beat. The new Mobile Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System (MCCTNS) portable scanner is used to prevent crime that might take place during night.

SP Dr Vikram Amate informed that this is mainly used during the inquiry of suspects who roam during night in addition to verbal inquiry of strangers and suspected people. This technique helps in tracing the criminal record of the person. Finger print of the suspect is used to identify his background on the spot.
