Mangalore Police Will Finally Have Its Own Armoury. Much Needed Move

Mangalore police commissionerate will finally have its own armoury. Almost 12 years after being formed, the city police, the City Armed Reserve will have its own building, including an armoury. The police have 16 police stations in three sub-divisions — Mangalore North, South and Central. The traffic subdivision has four police stations.

Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said once the construction is complete, the weapons that have been allotted to the city police and are at present with District Armed Reserve will be shifted. The building will be located near the police commissioner’s office. Work is in progress and the building that is coming up at a cost of Rs 4 crore is expected to be completed in a year’s time, he said.
