Mangalorean returns from Riyadh after suffering a stroke: Indian Social Forum helps him return

June 7: Abdul Majeed, (50) from Mallur in Dakshina Kannada was working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After getting paralysed his health condition worsened and Majeed was admitted to a hospital in Riyadh. As soon as he got admitted, his friends and well-wishers spread the message of his inability to return home on social media platforms. This message about Majeed’s plight went viral and members of the Indian Social Forum rushed to help him.
Indian Social Forum, a social welfare organisation that embraces the entire Indian expatriate community in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, has lent a helping hand to  Abdul Majeed. The Forum members visited Majeed in the hospital in Riyadh and found it necessary for Majeed to be in his native place for further treatment.
Forum members  took up initiatives to get in touch with Majeed’s sponsor. The sponsor in Saudi Arabia responded to the request by the forum members and provided all required documents for his return. With the help of donors, Majeed was sent to Mangaluru from Daman.
