Mangaloreans holds candle light tribute to Sri Lanka terror victims.

April 23: People in huge number gathered at the Milagres Church grounds on April 23, Tuesday, after sunset,  to pay tribute to the 300 plus victims who lost their lives and hundreds hurt in the terror explosions at Sri Lanka on April 22, Easter Sunday.
Rev Msgr Maxim Noronha, Vicar General of the Diocese of Mangalore expressed deep anguish at the terror unleashed without mind killing innocent church worshipers and holiday crowd in hotels. More than three hundred were killed and around five hundred wounded, some critically. He hoped that all those killed in the terror act live on as all of them believed in death and resurrection. It can be recalled that people killed in the explosion had gathered to celebrate the Resurrection of of Christ from death on the cross.  The people stood in silence with lighted candles in hand for two minutes to pay respect for the victims. Rev J.B. Crasta prayed for the souls of victims and the wounded.
Rev Onil D’Souza the Director of Saint Anthony’s Ashram Jeppu welcomed the gathering. Adv M.P. Noronha the senior advocate and the Secretary of Diocesan Pastoral Parishad proposed the vote of thanks.
