Mangalore’s Biggest Cricketing Event ‘GPL UTSAV’ To Start From February 14: Check Out What’s New!

February 11: The biggest cricketing event in Mangalore – ‘GPL UTSAV’ is just few days away. A press meet was held to inform about the event. Pradeep Pai, the owner of Hangyo Ice Creams Pvt Ltd and the convener of the Kodial Sports Association Guidance Board, Mangalpadi Naresh Shenoy, Chethan Kamath, Naresh Prabhu, Kiran Shenoy, Anjana Kamath from Youth of GSB were present for the press meet.

The Puzzolona GPL festival will be held on the 14th, 15th and 16th of
February at the Sahyadri Engineering College in Adyar, Mangalore under the guidance of Mangalore City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath. This is being organized for the fourth time by Kodial Sport Association.
This year, the cricket festival will feature a variety of special programmes, including a variety of workshops and competitions, with a special attraction.
GPL Cricket 2020 will feature 32 matches of 16 teams, including international teams as well as teams from  coastal districts. The official opening ceremony of the GPL festival will be held at 7 pm on February 14,  Friday, with state, national and international dignitaries present. This will be followed by followed by a concert of Fusion Musical Band.
Along with cricket matches, there are several other attractions like boating, horseback riding, adventure sports, water sports, zumba dance. Various competitions such as zumba competition, nesting competition, fire-making, mehndi competition, dyeing and coloring, tracer hunt, camouflage contest, hoopa Poster Making, Talent Show, Bharatanatyam Contest will also be held. Various workshops have been organised by eminent personalities from various fields, including poetry, preparation for civil examinations, photography, candle making, self-defense for women, style of food, interviewing art, job training, banking exam preparation, information on establishment of small and medium enterprises, social networking sites  and much more.
There will be a Food Court serving variety of delicacies free of cost for all the GSBs visiting the Utsav.
Three-hour buses have been arranged from Venkataramana Temple, Car Street Mangalore, to Sahyadri College, where the GSB community can travel for free.
Youth of GSB has been organizing information programs from cultural, arts, traditions, rituals and social fields to the Konkani speakers around the world.
