MCC Likely to Conduct a Survey on Stray Dog Population in Mangalore City: Click to Know

The Mangalore City Corporation has decided to conduct a survey to determine the number of stray dogs in Mangalore following complaints from the citizens. Residents from different parts of Mangalore city including Kottara Chowki, Surathkal, Kadri, Urwa, Mannagudda have expressed their concern over increasing population of stay dogs. The MCC has not conducted any survey in recent times and therefore does not have any detailed data.

Around 8549 stray dogs have been sterilized in the last five years through Animal Care Trust, Shaktinagar. These dogs are kept at the NGOs for  4 days and then re-located at the places from where they were brought. A V Shape mark is done on the left year to identify that these dogs have been sterilized.
