MCC Plans to Give Ayurvedic Touch to Rejuvenate Lakes in The City: Check Out
The Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) is planning to give an ayurvedic touch to rejuvenate lakes and the process is at the drafting stage. Mangaluru Urban Development Authority chairman Ravishankar Mijar said MCC has adopted the Delhi model to rejuvenate lakes using Ayurveda, the MCC authorities have obtained permission from their Delhi counterparts for the same. The traditional and cheaper ayurvedic methods, which have reportedly been proven successful for the treatment and rejuvenation of large water bodies.
Already works on nearly eight ponds and lakes are complete and work on eight more are in progress and soon work will start on another five water bodies. Two lakes have already been inaugurated and a few more will be inaugurated soon. development of a walking track is being tried if there is space as an aim to improve the groundwater table in Mangalore city.
