Media under Scan: Model Code of Conduct strictly monitored!

March 19: The District level Media certification & Monitoring Committee (MCMC) has started functioning round the clock to monitor the programmes on local channels & other electronic media.
As per the directions by Election Commission of India, the committee will strictly scrutinize the electronic media & check for any violations of code of conduct in connection with the Loksabha Elections.
All programmes are being recorded for reference. Any case of violation of code of conduct found in programmes, will be reported to the concerned authorities & further action will b taken. This observation will continue till polling procedure is completed.
It is mandatory for electronic media to obtain pre-certification for political advertisement of any party or candidate on their respective media. The certification should be made visible in the political advertisement. The expenditure made on the political advertisements will also be noted down by the concerned authorities.
