More than 3,600 teachers plan to go on a mass leave: Click to know why

July 6: A rallywill be held in Mangalore to protest against the government’s failure to implement their demands on July 9. More than 3,600 teachers will go on a mass casual leave (CL) to take part in the rally.
The district unit of Karnataka State Primary School Teachers’ Association president Shivashankar Bhat K and general secretary Ramakrishna Mallara told media persons in Mangalore here recently that a memorandum highlighting their demands was submitted to government on May 31. he mentioned that he had urged government to effect changes in cadre and recruitment rules to recognise teachers with graduate and postgraduate degrees in primary schools as graduate teachers and also continue the old pension system.
Ramakrishna said if the government does not respond to their demands the  the primary schools teachers will be forced to boycott Teachers’ Day programme and plan Vidhana Soudha Chalo protest.
