More than 500 dead chicken dumped: Two arrested

May 6: The Sampya police have arrested two persons for dumping more than 500 dead chicken at Kallagudde Colony in Mundooru Gram Panchayat limits in Puttur taluk. The arrested have been identified as Kushalappa Gowda of Kadya, near Mundooru and Madhuchandra Rai of Sanangala, near Keyyur village.
Balakrishna, a resident had filed a complaint to the gram panchayat regarding the dumping of dead chicken and then filed a complaint to the police.
Unbearable stench from the dumping of dead chicken had severely affected the residents. On Sunday, the gram panchayat removed all the dumped chicken and buried them in a pit.
